1-1.EXE

this is so cute! chatter is such a charming little dude. i watched a let's play so i didn't complete it myself, but i was delighted when i guessed his name right (and when i called the joke about him not actually being super malicious). i love how fun and unique the gameplay is--the color test was such a cool idea! i'll definitely be downloading to give it a try myself.

while i was watching, i really appreciated how during "act one" (before chatter shows up) the tension is built both slowly and inconsistently: after a "weird" loop of 1-1, sometimes you'll get a much more normal one, which is pretty unlike most .exe romhacks (where the escalation from normal to spooky is a one way trip). the inconsistency builds suspense very well! and i like how there's a sneaky one-frame name reveal (CHT-R) even if you don't find the letters on your own.

This is honestly a interesting game. I like how it has some challenges but mainly the entity that traps mario in 1-1 also actually plays fair unlike some creature just cheating to make you lose in .exe game.

Needless to say, you did an great job at this game.

Dude, I'm surprised I'm even seeing an EXE game with actual effort put into the gameplay itself instead of being a walking simulator with decent spritework. You did an excellent job.
